The Road to Digital Quality – Astrata’s Maturity Model Approach??
If you are struggling to figure out how to transition your HEDIS technology over the next few years to a digital HEDIS platform, you are not alone! How do you make such a monumental change in the face of other CMS and ONC regulations, and given the fact that there are still missing pieces that we need from the regulators to accomplish this transformation? In this month’s blog, I’ll take you through how Astrata is approaching this with our clients – by offering a unique combination of software and services that lets you dip your toe and gain confidence so you can really jump into the deep end when the time comes. And that time is approaching quickly, because most Health Plans will need to have their new approach in place in the next 3 years. Leaving you just enough time to make the switch. Learn how you can make the most out of your time by adopting a maturity model approach.?

Connecting AI, Digital Quality and Behavioral Science Interventions: An Accelerator for Value-Based Care?
It was such a treat to join MedOrion CEO Asaf Kleinbort to discuss how behavioral insights and digital quality measurement can be linked to solve critical challenges facing health insurers and providers. Using examples from cancer screening and diabetes care, Asaf and I really get into the details of how to pair digital quality and behavioral science interventions to scale across populations with much less manual work.?

Good reads?
This month we are focused on the more geeky side of things with three great reads:?
National Academy of Medicine’s Code of AI Conduct?
With so much hype, potential for good and for bad – use of emergent AI and especially Large Language Models in healthcare is ramping up. Before the industry gets ahead of itself, the National Academy of Medicine has put together a set of foundational principles and a code of conduct that all of us in the healthcare tech industry should be aware of. They are inviting comments and responses.?
Unveiling the Power and Potential of Large Language Models: A High Level Overview?
Taking a more in-the-trenches and operational viewpoint to the NAM Code of AI Conduct, HIMMS has developed a great overview for health care and healthcare tech professionals. If you are looking for one place to understand what these models are, how they can be used in healthcare, what the risks are and what your organizations should do to ensure safe use – I think you will appreciate this 6-part overview.?
Extracting Information about Physical Rehabilitation?
I think one of the most profound changes we will see as we move to Digital Quality framework, is that it will put tremendous pressure on the measurement development process to start focusing on outcomes over process. And that is, in turn, going to put tremendous pressure on the electronic documentation and interop processes that support quality measurement. This paper very nicely attacks one of the areas that I believe we need much, much more detailed information from – physical therapy and rehabilitation, in this case post-stroke. I expect to see many more papers focused on finding and extracting the information we need to measure true outcomes and not just whether or not we deliver the right intervention.?
