Digital Promise Announces 11 Newly Certified EdTech Products

Congratulations to the edtech tools that were recently awarded one of Digital Promise’s product certifications! These 11 edtech tools demonstrated that their design is based on learning sciences research, and many of them demonstrated evidence that aligns with Tier 3 or 4 of the ESSA Tiers of Evidence. Product certifications serve as rigorous, reliable signals for school administrators, educators, and families looking to select edtech that is designed to intentionally meet learners’ authentic needs.

Evidence-Based Edtech: ESSA Tier 3

Our newest product certification, Evidence-Based Edtech: ESSA Tier 3, requires earners to demonstrate a basis in learning sciences research and also submit an independent study about the product that aligns with Tier 3 of the ESSA Tiers of Evidence.

Congratulations to the following products for earning this new certification:

• Imagine MyPath?, by Imagine Learning , accelerates students in reaching grade level proficiency with assessment-informed individualized learning paths that prioritize and deliver age-appropriate adaptive lessons to maximize efficient learning.
• ReadWorks is an online platform providing free high-quality texts and tools designed to supplement any curricula to improve reading comprehension for every district, school, and student.
• ST Math, by MIND Education is a PreK-8 visual instructional program that leverages the brain's innate spatial-temporal reasoning ability to solve mathematical problems.

Research-Based Design: ESSA Tier 4

Launched in April 2024, Research-Based Design: ESSA Tier 4 is the new and updated version of our Research-Based Design for Instructional Learning Products certification. This certification aligns with Tier 4 of the ESSA Tiers of Evidence. Earners of this certification must submit evidence to demonstrate that learning sciences research drove the product’s design. They must also submit a well-designed qualitative research study indicating that the edtech product is designed for a positive learning experience.

Congratulations to the following product for earning this new certification:

• Storyboard That is a state-of-the-art drag and drop tool that makes it easy to create storyboards using text, images, and customizable premade templates.

Research-Based Design for Instructional Learning Products

To earn the Research-Based Design for Instructional Learning Products certification, edtech product teams must submit evidence to demonstrate that learning sciences research drove the product’s design. Please note that this certification has been updated to Research-Based Design: ESSA Tier 4, described above.
