The digital patient experience is set to improve further in the coming years as technology progresses and new technologies become more broadly embraced.

The next focus point in medicine is likely to be integrated care delivery across the patient journey. As technology improves communication and promotes efficiency across the healthcare continuum, we will see more completely integrated and connected solutions.?

Here are some forecasts about how innovation will revolutionize healthcare over the next five years.

Acceptance of AI & ML: As the reach of Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare system expands, robots will become increasingly more effective at identifying disease and potentially treating it. There are several possibilities to employ AI, ranging from chronic illnesses and oncology to radiography and risk assessment. Current voice-based virtual care assistants will transform into holographic medical support in the future. These medical holograms will be able to converse with patients "face-to-face," answer their health questions, provide early diagnostics, and aid bridge the gap between patient and practitioner.

The advancement of AI-based capabilities will increase, and these health assistants will be able to perform tasks as simple as scheduling appointments, updating planner, or contacting an Uber, as well as checking signs and symptoms, provisional medical diagnostics, resolving basic medical concerns, and tracking progression, at ridiculous speeds and with human-like greatness.

Using radiofrequency spectroscopy, the Bio-RFID sensor platform of the wearable analyzes the intensity of certain radio waves between the minimum and maximum concentration levels of whatever is passing through the bloodstream, in this case sample components like blood glucose. The technology successfully completed in-vitro pre-FDA scientific research validation testing to determine if Bio-RFID can accurately and non-invasively monitor and detect a range of samples.

Customization at the nanoscale: Newly developing medical ideas such as nanobots will be utilized to actively check our bodies for ailments, distribute medications, and continuously transfer this information to the cloud for close monitoring by medical professionals.

The reality-virtuality continuum: Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) as medical intervention tools are still in their infancy, but they are expected to be more widespread and sophisticated in the future. Currently, efforts have been made around the world to investigate their use in pain management therapies, phobia treatment, as a treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder, as an option to alleviate other anxiety-inducing conditions, and for timely identification of Alzheimer's disease, amongst other things.

The technologies and innovation presented in the preceding cases are realistic. In reality, the majority of these technologies are either in use or are in the development. Digitalization in healthcare has brought forth a new massive change, and pharma corporations have comprehend its features and effects in order to effectively harness it. The emergence of smart and connected patients has been facilitated by the expansion of digital health. Patients who are digitally enabled and aware expect to be involved in every decision that affects their treatment experience.
