?? Linkedin Adds Newsletters for Company Pages
Linkedin has added a new way for brands to stay in touch with their audience on the platform by adding Newsletters to Linkedin Company Pages. Linkedin explained:
“We debuted Articles for Pages last year to help you publish longform professional content to spark conversations and drive greater engagement. We continue to look for meaningful ways to connect as we navigate our new world of work, and that’s why we’re introducing Newsletters, a new way to build communities around topics that matter most to your customers with recurring Articles from your Page that members can subscribe to.
And here we are! We hope you enjoy ours!
”?? Meta Files Trademarks for Crypto Tokens, Wallets, Exchanges
Meta, formerly Facebook, filed eight trademark applications on Friday for its logo to cover a wide range of digital purposes, including cryptocurrency tokens, wallets, and exchanges.
Six refer to cryptocurrency and blockchain-based technologies!
What does this all mean?
Meta recently announced it’s looking to integrate NFTs on Instagram, one of its most popular apps. At the SXSW Conference, Zuckerberg said he sees Instagram users being able to mint their digital avatar’s clothing as NFTs. Watch this space for more exciting updates on this!
??New Ways to Control Your Instagram Feed
Instagram introduced Favorites and Following this week, two new ways to choose what you see in your feed.
On their press page they said: "We want you to be able to shape Instagram into the best possible experience, and giving you ways to quickly see what you’re most interested in is an important step in that direction."
What does it mean?
Use Favourites to see the most recent posts from the accounts you’ve added to your favourites list. You can add up to 50 accounts to your list, and make changes to this list at any time — people are not notified when they are added or removed. Posts from accounts on your favourites list will also show up higher in your home feed, as shown by a star icon.
More Choice and Control Over What You See in Your Feed
Instagram say they are always working on new ways to improve your Instagram experience, and will continue to build features like Favourites and Following to give you more choice and control over what you see, and help make the time you spend on the app feel more intentional.
?? Meta inks partnership for 3D ads in step toward the Metaverse (Reuters)
Meta Platforms Inc (FB.O) will make it easier for brands to run three-dimensional ads on its Facebook and Instagram social media platforms through a new partnership with an ecommerce technology firm.
The integration with VNTANA will allow brands to upload the 3D models of their products to Facebook and Instagram and easily convert them into ads, VNTANA said on Thursday in a press release.
The move is a stepping stone into advertising in the metaverse, said VNTANA Chief Executive Ashley Crowder, referring to the futuristic idea of a collection of virtual worlds that can be accessed through devices such as headsets.
Facebook and Instagram users who see a 3D ad while browsing on their desktop or phone can interact with an image of a handbag, for instance, and move it around to view the item from all angles.
"In a way, this offers a glimpse of what you might expect on future devices like AR glasses," said Chris Barbour, director of augmented reality partnerships at Meta's Reality Labs unit.
Before VNTANA's integration with Meta, advertisers would need to reformat 3D files to be compatible with Meta's ad systems. Now, brands can use VNTANA to easily upload and convert the files into ads without technical expertise in working with 3D images, Crowder said.

???Encanto's soundtrack is all we can talk about on TikTok
According to TikToks Newsroom: we don't talk about Bruno, but we listen, sing, dance, and create to his anthem and other songs from Disney's Academy Award nominated hit, Encanto. Since its December 24th release, Encanto videos have pervaded TikTok, resulting in five different songs from the movie trending on the platform. Composer and genius Lin-Manuel Miranda's songs have a history of resonating with countless listeners as hits from Hamilton and In the Heights spark trends and inspire creators to express themselves. The engrossing songs of Encanto are no different. In light of this success, Lin-Manuel Miranda gave a special thanks to the TikTok community for their support, creativity, and love for the Encanto soundtrack.
