Digital Marketing Tips for Jan 11
I promise simple, actionable digital marketing tips bi-weekly, and now that I'm a full time content creator and teacher, here they are!
Post links to sell in your Instagram stories.
Social Insider found that people buy more from Instagram stories than anywhere else on the platform. Translation? Offer your products and services in stories! If you sell products, tag the products through the shopping tab. If you sell services, use the link feature to a page where consumers can learn more or purchase
Use Google Search Console to find weak points in your SEO.
Google Search Console connects to your website (most easily through Google Analytics) to tell you what keywords people are typing in to find you, and find your pages.
What I want to draw your attention to is clicks and impressions: if you have low clicks to high impressions, it means people are seeing your page but not clicking on it. To fix this, re-write your meta description for your page to be more enticing!
Save content in a repository for later.
A key to successful content marketing is holding onto your content so you can re-purpose and re-use it later. This is easy! Platforms I've used include Preview, Drop Box and Google Drive. Ideally your repository should be online so you can access it anywhere, and grant access to others.
Remember, you can send 100 connection requests per week.
Growing a personal LinkedIn is probably the easiest, because you can send so many connection requests! I recommend targeting based on a combination of job title + location. For improved acceptance rates, add a note. Otherwise, get to adding!

Pinterest is testing live.
This is a great time to be a Pinterest user.
While late to the game, Pinterest is now offering live videos like on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
And what do we know about social media? Platforms reward early adopters. Try it!
Use pinned posts on Facebook.
Pinned posts are posts that are pinned to the top of the feed, so when people come to your page, it's the first thing they see. Use this space to clarify your offering, offer a promotion, or tell people your brand story!
P.s. Have you signed up for my course yet?
Growth Strategies is a course that focuses on tactics to grow your followers and sales. This course is less a course you progress through, and more of a content repository. Take the class!
