Greetings!
Welcome back. This is part 2 of the first article I wrote a few weeks ago on an introduction to Digital Marketing. In this article we will take a more detailed look into SEO and what it entails.
SEO is an abbreviation for Search Engine Optimisation.
In layman terms SEO consists of methods and techniques used by Digital Marketers to improve website rankings organically (non paid) on search engines such as Google. The better a websites SEO is, the higher it can rank on the search engine. Have you ever wondered why when you search for something on Google, some websites appear first and others appear at the very bottom of the search results page? A major factor that contributes to websites performing poorly on search results is POOR Search Engine Optimisation!
The text book definition is, "SEO is a marketing discipline focused on growing visibility in organic (non-paid) search engine results. SEO encompasses both the technical and creative elements required to improve rankings, drive traffic, and increase awareness in search engines".
So you might be asking yourself how you can organically improve your websites rankings on search engines like Google and Bing? Below are a few tricks recommended by researches at the Digital Agency Network, that you can use to make your personal or company website rank higher.
- Publish Relevant Content. Quality content is the number one driver of your search engine rankings and there is no substitute for great content
