I promise simple, actionable digital marketing tips bi-weekly, and now that I'm a full time content creator and teacher, here they are!
A little tip to make your videos better:?
Whatever electronic device you're recording your videos on, find the camera hole and look directly into it. When viewers watch your videos, they'll think you're looking directly at them and it builds a connection a bit faster.?
?One way to get more clicks to your website: update your page meta description.
Each page gets a description that tells search engines and users what's on it. A couple suggestions on writing it: keep it between 120 - 200 characters, which is shorter than a Tweet. Also write it like a sales pitch where you're giving a reason and persuading someone to come to the page.?
Did you see this?COLOSSAL Instagram update?!
Adam Mosseri, CEO of Instagram, has come out and said reels didn't gain the popularity Instagram wanted, so the platform is returning to an emphasis on image posts. But where possible, do carrousel posts with multiple images (and make sure the second image is as captivating as the first, as some people will see it too!).?
One thing you may be doing to screw up your ads is choosing the wrong objective.?
Every time you go to do ads, the first thing you're always asked (seriously, on every platform) is something to the effect of "What are you trying to achieve?" Answer this as accurately as possible! Some business owners stick with default settings which actually hurts your ads. You want reach? Choose reach. You want people to engage with your post? Choose engagement. Be specific.?
You may not be getting sales because it's too many clicks away.
One way of determining sales success and increasing sales in digital marketing is measuring clicks to sales. Think about how someone can give you their money: how hard would it be? How many clicks would it take? Go from your home page of your website and from each social media channel to figure out...how many clicks does it take to make a sale?

And let me give you this hint: if it's more than five (5), it's too many.?
Planning on talking about Pride in June? Start the conversation now.
One way businesses can use their platforms for good is to amplify marginalized groups and talking about those events during their days/months/times. The problem is that if you ONLY do this during that month (ex: talking about Pride in June) it's actually performative and harmful. Start talking about it now, start taking action to support queer folks now to be an ally!
Platforms with mixed hashtag best practices:?
Usually when we talk about hashtags we talk about Instagram (and maybe TikTok). But what about Facebook and LinkedIn? Truthfully, no digital marketer (myself included) is totally sure how effective they are. That said, just in case, add 2-4 hashtags at the bottom of the post (in the body).?
When going live, increase engagement by actively engaging with the watching audience.?
Ask for engagement (ex: "If you can hear me and see me can you give me a comment or a heart?) throughout,?and interact with people. This builds a better live, shows you are collaborative, and if folks like it and keep commenting or liking it will amplify your live!
