The power of trust and togetherness in the Age of AI
What do CTOs really think and feel about GenAI? We partnered with CTO Craft to survey over 200 technology leaders to find out.
The new research is revealing on a number of levels. As we know, most people are deeply concerned, or at least wary, about the impact of AI on the human experience. But what about those implementing the technology?
One thing that sticks out is just how much support CTOs and other technology leaders need - and why the community is more important than ever.
The power of the togetherness
The report, unsurprisingly, reflects the natural apprehension felt by CTOs as they respond to pressure to quickly and safely find a way to extract the obvious value that GenAI can deliver.?
Yet at the same, there’s a reminder that you can’t do AI without people. Beyond feelings of anxiety and frustration are positive emotions too: amusement, curiosity, and excitement.
As a technology leader myself, who has seen multiple hype cycles and technology waves over the last couple of decades, I’m reminded how much I rely on my peers. To stay calm. To be measured in my response. And to seek guidance where possible - your troubles are seldom unique.?
The power of trust
My peers have been one of my biggest strengths in my tech career, providing invaluable insights and perspectives that enhance my capabilities and help me navigate the complexities of leading a technical team effectively.
When you consider the low trust levels in GenAI — 62% say GenAI cannot be trusted with critical business processes — it’s paramount that we find trust elsewhere. And that’s in the people we work and engage with regularly. Because overcoming the myriad challenges alone is nearly impossible.
Putting the human experience at the heart of everything
My active participation in human networks such as CTO Craft is instrumental in shaping my personal AI understanding, allowing me to feed into Softwire's wider AI strategy.?
The shared insights, experiences, and knowledge from other technology leaders in the community is something that can be augmented - but never replaced by - AI.?
This perspective allows me to embrace this new dawn with confidence - knowing I have the minds and hearts of the very best in my corner.?
