In the realm of Digital IC design, several challenges often impede a practicing student or researcher, including:
1. A predominant reliance on Linux environments, as approximately 98% of the relevant software operates within this ecosystem.
2. The prevalence of commercial tools, posing financial constraints.
3. Issues related to system hardware support.
Fortunately, we have solutions to address each of these challenges effectively.
The use of GitHub codespaces mitigates problems associated with Linux compatibility and system hardware support. Additionally, for the financial barrier posed by commercial tools, we have open-source EDA tools.
