This week's key articles from The Digital Health Weekly:

Can digital health technologies improve access to care?

"A new? alliance ?announced in May – the Digital Health for Equitable Health Alliance – aims to improve health equity through the expansion of digital health innovations. The alliance membership comprises historically black colleges and universities, patient and physician advocacy organizations, and corporate organizations – they all have the mission to improve access to care in underserved organizations."

International Insights: 3 Lessons From Israel’s World-leading Clinical Data-sharing System

"Israel has a powerful tech ecosystem combined with practical government support. The nation's leaders don’t tell entrepreneurs what to do —?but they do provide clarity around the challenges that the healthcare sector is facing, and help gently steer innovation in the right direction."

International Outlook: #India and the Top health tech trends to look out for in 2022

"Since the healthcare industry is infused with technology, the term health tech is buzzing around us. Now we have facilities for teleconsultations & health-tracking tools on our phones. Even artificial intelligence and cloud computing are being used in digital health monitoring and tracking tools." says Deepak Tuli CEO of eka.care

The Online Therapy Bubble Is Bursting

Prioritizing growth above all else—even if it means cutting corners along the way—is?a common mentality among tech startups . Now, that alleged business practice is bringing scrutiny to many of the startups that popped up or thrived during the pandemic to target mental-health treatment: an area of medicine in desperate need of innovation, since it prices out many people seeking care, historically?excludes people of color , and is so inaccessible that about a?third of people in the U.S. who have severe anxiety or depression don’t get treatment .

Breaking down language barriers with digital health

"Jayshree Velani, dispensary manager at Ealing Hospital pharmacy explains how a web-based bilingual labelling solution has helped adherence and reduced healthcare inequalities."

"Traditionally we’ve used a interpreter from the language service department to communicate with patients about their medication, but this has its drawbacks. It can be time-consuming because the company we use has to get in touch with the interpreter. If it’s a straightforward medication, it takes between four and seven minutes once you get hold of them but it could take longer depending on the patient’s understanding and the complication of the dose."

Oh, I love this story! I wish I could find Jayshree Velani on @LinkedIn and tell her how amazing this solution is! NHS help me find her please!

???? Tip for making LinkedIn content more #Accessible

Here's an #Inclusion tip when we write our content - when we include #HashTags in our content, it is best to use capitalize the first letter of the different words.

Why?

It makes the content more accessible especially for folks using text to speech.

Here is an #Empathy invoking example: imagineiwrotethewholedigitalhealthnewseditioninthisway.

Now imagine how that plays out when we include things like #inclusionmatters rather than #InclusionMatters

Why am I telling you this? Because I am trying to do better in my content. And I want you to hold me #Accountable . If you see me slacking on this, call me on it! #BeGentleThough ??
