While metaverse trends related to?gaming?and?art?may feel miles away from healtfirehcare, today’s metaverse leaders are also?making?health?moves . So does digital health have a place in virtual worlds? Turns out, digital health startups have already entered the metaverse, with some implications in tow.
More and more healthcare systems are turning to openEHR — from individual hospitals to regions to entire countries. openEHR enables a system to be “interoperable”, federated, and use standards-based API’s to interact with data. It moves the entire landscape from an app-centric architecture to a data-centric one.
Covid-19 has been a dreadful experience, not least for healthcare professionals on the frontline, who've been battling burnout as well as the coronavirus. But the pandemic has also created opportunities for medics to try new digital technologies, such as mixed reality, that could help them provide better care to patients.
A?Queensland?company has developed a new breathalyser test to detect COVID-19. Similar to a roadside breath tester, the new device will allow Australians to test themselves for COVID-19 without requiring a swab. All you have to do is a five-second blow and that's it.
France has the potential to be a “leader in digital health”, Health Minister Olivier Véran has said, announcing an investment plan of €650 million, divided into five axes, to accelerate the national digital health strategy, as part of the Health Innovation 2030 plan.
Mobile apps make it possible to track everything from exercise and calories to blood pressure and blood sugar and use the information to stay on target with health goals or manage a chronic condition.?

2 年Re OpenEHR (which deserves to succeed) I suspect the incumbents (Cerner, Epic etc) will not cede ground easilly and slowly open up to become platforms for value-added apps but retaining ownership of the data. This is already happening via their apps stores and gives them an innovation pipeline to the future. The opportunity costs of swittching for providers is also huge - has anyone ever done it?
