As we enter the beginning of our second proper week back to work, we thought it would make more sense to share our 2024 predictions. It always takes a moment to acclimate back to the idea that we do have things to get done and deadlines to make and once the shock to the system has started to subside, the reality of what head starts to take place. And now is when we start to think about what is coming and what is really needed.
So here we go. I can’t wait to see what actually happens and continue on this journey called life. It’s exciting! We look forward to taking this ride with you.
1 "AI Therapists "?
In 2024, we predict a surge in demand for AI therapists for everyone suffering from AI burnout. With everyone either talking about the fear of AI taking over or trying to figure out if AI is real, helpful or has anything to do with us, we're all AI burnt-out. ?
2 "Cybersecurity Yoga Classes"?
As cyber threats continue to evolve, we predict a rise in unconventional cybersecurity measures that do absolutely nothing for you but look good on TikTok. Imagine IT professionals practising downward-facing backups or engaging in tantric anti-malware meditation. Stay secure and Zen in 2024 – because a peaceful mind is a hack-free mind! We promise only to get involved after doing the hard work of actually securing your business.?
3 "Emoji-Based Cybersecurity Training"?
We anticipate a revolution in cybersecurity training – say goodbye to lengthy manuals and hello to emoji-based security lessons. Who needs an anti-phishing strategy when you can use the ?? emoji to represent strong passwords? Get ready to decode cyber threats in the language of emojis!?
On a more serious note, however, we do see some trends that we will be spending some serious time focusing on in 2024.?

4 "It's all about the (Kevin) Bacon."?
Charities and small businesses will continue to expand and adopt new payment technologies, such as SumUp card readers, to make payments more convenient. For example, charities are looking to accept more in-person and online payments at fundraising events. And businesses will be looking to leverage mobile wallets or even cryptocurrency. As we connect more points into our systems, we also create more points of risk. At ITGuys, we will be as focused as ever on understanding how we help organisations secure themselves when implementing these changes.?
5 "We can't believe flexible working is going away.... ever."?
The world has shifted. And while we hear a lot about going back into offices, for most small businesses and charities, providing flexible working solutions is still a game changer for hiring great people. This means, HR managers, more pain for you. Dealing with onboarding and offboarding the technology needed to support hires and fires will continue to be a nightmare unless you've got ITGUYS behind the scenes.?
6 "Understanding risk becomes even more important." ?
In 2024, the emerging threats targeting companies and individuals will be even more intense, complicated, and challenging to manage. Unfortunately, a lot of this activity will be aimed at charities and small businesses with the assumption that you are less protected. Understanding what level of business risk you want to carry as you operate and aligning that with your IT strategy will become even more critical in 2024. ?
?
Not sure what your risk level is? Get in touch and we can help you work through what that means to your organisation.
Finally, this is not part of our six predictions because this is a promise. We promise to continue our journey to becoming a B-Corp in 2024 - it's a business-critical objective for us and one I'm personally holding myself accountable for as I want to be the type of company I want to work with. And we promise to continue to be a great partner to our customers. `

10 个月Hi Ben, awesome article, a quick question though. The prediction about charities and small businesses adopting new payment technologies is intriguing. How does ITGuys plan to navigate the increased points of risk that come with these changes? Are there specific security measures or strategies you anticipate implementing to ensure the security of these transactions?
