It incorporates tools and concepts like Building Information Modelling (BIM), digital twins, GIS, cost data, project scheduling, and geospatial information. This integration ensures data flows across the project lifecycle (known as a digital thread), enabling real-time collaboration, accurate decision-making, and centralised information access. DE as a concept was created to reduce errors, rework, and delays, and improve efficiency.

Beyond construction, it provides reliable data for ongoing asset management, optimising performance and minimising long-term costs across industries such as construction, utilities, and infrastructure.

Digital Engineering at SiteDE is about transforming geospatial data with certainty, creating actionable insights to support infrastructure, development projects and assets. For us, it’s the integration of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Building Information Modelling (BIM), and support for Design and Construct (D&C) workflows to deliver tailored solutions that streamline processes and enable smarter decision-making—without engaging in design activities ourselves.

The subsections of Digital Engineering in a SiteDE context are:

• GIS - Providing geospatial data and analysis to map, visualise, and understand spatial relationships, forming the foundation for informed decisions.
• BIM - Developing accurate 3D models and datasets that integrate project and asset information for use across the lifecycle of infrastructure.
• D&C(Design and Construct) Workflows - Supporting construction teams with reliable digital deliverables that enhance planning, coordination and de-risk construction processes.

We focus on data processing, point cloud modelling and geospatial advisory to create accurate digital representations of physical spaces.
