A few weeks back Standards Australia launched an exciting new initiative for the built environment titled Digital Engineering: Shifting the Paradigm in the Construction Sector. This program aims to promote digital transformation, elevate data management and foster collaboration throughout the construction sector.

The event was in two parts, opening with a conversation between Adam Stingemore and myself, where we explored the challenges and opportunities of digital transformation, and the drivers for change in the construction sector. We then opened up a panel discussion with esteemed guests Ian Oppermann and Dr James Glastonbury , along with Q&A from the audience.
These discussions raised a number of big issues, that we will begin to tackle over the next few months. A few key takeaways were:

In short - everything is now on the table. This program will challenge group-think and explore new solutions for addressing current issues holding back our sector.
Next year we will be seeking to find enthusiastic individuals and leading organisations who will help to shape these ideas and eventually bring them to life. This new journey with Digital Engineering has just begun - and we hope that you will join us!
