Computing Alchemic Intelligence: AI Alchemy and Digital Dark Ages

Computing Alchemic Intelligence: AI Alchemy and Digital Dark Ages

MILLIONS AND MILLIONS OF PEOPLE, INCLUDING ACADEMICIANS AND POLITICIANS, ARE SELF-DELUDING THAT ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE MIMICS HUMAN INTELLIGENCE, OUR NATURAL PERCEPTION, LEARNING, THINKING AND ACTION.

MACHINE INTELLIGENCE IS ABOUT BUILDING THE WORLD MODELING AI MACHINES TRANSCENDING BUT COMPLETING THE HUMAN MIND.

THE FUTURE DOES NOT NEED THE HUMAN-COMPETE LARGE LANGUAGE AI/ML MODELS, BUT THE HUMAN-COMPLETE LARGE WORLD MODELING AUTONOMOUS INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS.

"There are real and true, scientific and objective AI vs. unreal and fake, imitating and subjective AI.

To build true intelligent machines, teach them how to model. simulate and effectively interact with the world, its realities and environments, entities and systems".

[A New Man-Machine Real AI World]

AI as Alchemical Intelligence

A lot of people think of AI as some digital alchemy capable of any magical transmutation with base data creating alchemical general intelligence (AGI) using cyphers/embeddings and cryptic symbolism (black box deep neural networks).

Technically, modern AI -- presented as Predictive AI, Machine Learning and Neural Networks, or Generative AI, Deep Learning and Large Language Models -- is essentially only doing one of 3 things:

(1) Being able to match a previously registered ("trained. learnt") data pattern (classification),

(2) interpolate ("predict") its next value (regression),

(3) mashing up billion bits and million pieces of information....

and it's surprising how close it is come to faking human intelligence with just these 3 programming "tricks".

Generative AI as a big tech bootleg

Today's AI led not by predictive AI but by generative AI is all owned by Big Tech: in the context of the current paradigm of building larger- and larger-scale AI systems, there is no AI without Big Tech. every startup, new entrant, and even AI research lab is dependent on these firms. All rely on the computing infrastructure of Microsoft, Amazon, and Google to train their systems, and on those same firms’ vast consumer market reach to deploy and sell their AI products.?

Generative AI is a digital mashup: "a mashup (also mesh, mash up, mash-up, blend, bastard pop or bootleg) is a creative work, usually a song, created by blending two or more pre-recorded songs, typically by superimposing the vocal track of one song seamlessly over the instrumental track of another and changing the tempo and key where necessary. Such works are considered "transformative" of original content and in the United States they may find protection from copyright claims under the "fair use" doctrine of copyright law".

GenAI speculative investment is led by Accenture, while the AI startup, OpenAI, is generating revenue at a pace of $1.3 billion annually.?

https://analyticsindiamag.com/accentures-generative-ai-revenue-surpasses-all-vc-backed-startups-combined/#:~:text=%E2%80%9CWe%20had%20over%20%24600%20million,Accenture%2C%20during%20the%20earnings%20call

Now "authors, artists and others are filing lawsuits against generative AI companies for using their data in bulk to train AI systems without permission", with no legal effects in the mashup culture.

It is plain and clear that the only legit class action against the big tech AI should relate to the very fakery and falsity of its sham products and services.

In our post-truth reality, nobody wants reality, originality and factuality. Most wish to be mass-self-deluded.

The West has its Digital Dark Ages of Fake/False AI, when human body/brain/brains/behavior/business is faked and falsified due to the "dark ages" anthropocentrism and anthropomorphism.

"Lasting some 200 years, the Crusades helped bring Europeans out of the Dark Ages by bringing them into contact with a civilization far more advanced than their own.? Through the Crusades, Europeans encountered new ideas and technologies, while at the same time they established important trade routes between the East and West.? Lastly, the Crusades provided Europeans with the confidence and desire to look beyond the confines of their own homes".

Conclusion

How myopic the mass-deluded people could be. It is like we have the new Dark Ages of digital illiteracy and mass delusion, and the only "science" left is statistics alchemy.

Factors Behind Companies Promoting Misleading AI Claims

Many companies make exaggerated or misleading claims about the capabilities of their AI products or services, and it is generally not the case that companies intentionally promote "fake AI" to their customers.

There are a number of factors that may contribute to companies making exaggerated or misleading claims about their AI products or services. For example:

  • Lack of understanding: Some companies may not fully understand the capabilities and limitations of AI and may make claims that are not accurate.
  • Marketing: Some companies may make exaggerated claims about their AI products or services as a marketing tactic in order to differentiate themselves from competitors or generate buzz.
  • Miscommunication: In some cases, misunderstandings or miscommunications between different teams within a company or between a company and its customers may result in inaccurate or misleading information being shared about an AI product or service.

Overall, it is important for companies to be transparent and accurate in their communication about their AI products and services, and for customers to carefully evaluate the claims made about these products and services before making a purchase.
