These initiatives aim to secure and verify important credentials like employment eligibility and citizenship status, enhancing privacy and security for users. This move parallels efforts in the EU to implement digital identities by 2026.

Merit has launched a new digital credentialing platform that transforms how personal credentials are managed, supporting the digital transformation in government. This platform leverages unique permissions technology to create secure digital identity ecosystems, enhancing personal data verification. A consortium of leading education organizations, including 1EdTech Consortium and CAST (Center for Applied Special Technology) , has introduced quality indicators for evaluating educational technology tools. These indicators are validated through third-party certifications and are available on the newly updated EdTech Index.
