The summer holiday season is at its peak, but it doesn’t mean we’re slowing down. ?? If anything, the Sun is only giving us the energy to work harder – and it seems that we can say the same about the industry. ?? So what’s happening in the XR world lately? From medical breakthroughs to gaming updates from another level, we see revolutionARy inventions almost every day. But we’re not the ones to complain! Quite the contrary, we’re here for it! ????

So, what was happening? ??

??BMW Motorrad presented a groundbreaking invention: motorcycle goggles. The ConnectedRide Smartglasses are said to provide all of the important information like navigation, gear, and speed right in front of the rider’s eyes in real time. The headset can be connected to your smartphone through Bluetooth, and you can change all of the settings via a multi-controller on the handlebar of the vehicle. The goggles will be adjusted to every face shape and will be equipped with features like sun protection or special improvements for people with glasses.?

?? Augmented Reality found another way to make an impact in the world of medicine. MediView XR, which is a medical tech company known for pursuing AR solutions in the health market, announced receiving an FDA 510(k) clearance to use the company’s Augmented Reality surgical navigation system called XR90. It allows surgeons to visualize and navigate through less invasive procedures like tumor ablations and biopsies. Doctors can see a patient's internal soft tissues, vascular, organ, and skeletal structures in 3D, based on CT scans and ultrasound.?

??Roblox is officially coming to Meta Quest! The game with a community of over 66 million daily users will now allow players from all over the world to enjoy the experience on a whole another level. The launch of open beta is said to happen in the next few weeks to optimize the existing games to VR and build new ones specifically for Meta Quest. And the best part? Since Roblox is cross-platform, you will be able to play with all of your friends, no matter if you prefer Xbox, iOS, Android, desktop, or now – VR!?

?? It looks like we will have to wait a little longer for the Samsung XR headset. The company announced the partnership with Google and Qualcomm back in February, and since then there haven’t been many updates about the project. More information was supposed to be released later in 2023, but it seems that the announcement of Apple’s Vision Pro headset interfered with Samsung’s plans. The project will be completely redesigned, and the release date will be delayed even up to six months.?

?? But Samsung is not giving up. Quite the opposite, rumors are saying that the company is currently developing a brand new smart ring under the ‘Galaxy’ name. The device would be targeted both at Health and XR headsets market, with such abilities as tracking sleep, heart rate, irregular heart rhythm, and blood pressure with better accuracy than the smartwatch. It’s also possible that the ring will allow users to work as a controller for other electronic devices like laptops or even mentioned before headsets. At this point, we have no details available, as the information is not yet officially confirmed, but we feel like it will be worth a wait.?
