By now I'm sure you will have heard the good news that JLR owner Tata has announced plans to build a new £4bn battery manufacturing plant in the UK which is expected to create 4,000 direct jobs and thousands more across the supply chain.

Located at the 616-acre Gravity Smart Campus in Somerset, the gigafactory will open in 2026 with an initial output of 40GWh - almost half of the battery production that the Faraday Institution estimates the UK will need by 2030.
