Welcome to this week's Leadership & Strategy briefing

By now manufacturers should be used to entering new years with a sense of trepidation. However, there were worrying signs in the recent Make UK/BDO Q4 Manufacturing Outlook survey which warned that the UK risks sleepwalking into an acceptance that little or no growth is the norm. It also urged government to work with industry to deliver a long-term industrial strategy. See the full story below.

In other news, it's exciting times for all you numismatics out there (that's coin collectors to you and me)! The Royal Mint has announced that the first coinage featuring King Charles III will now start to appear in circulation in post offices around the UK. The first coin to bear the king’s portrait is 50 pence commemorating the life and legacy of Queen Elizabeth II on the reverse (tails side).
