What is social marketing
Social marketings main goal is achieving common good. Non profits use social marketing all the time to help bring awareness to their cause. Social marketing varies from traditional marketing because it is not aimed at creating profit it is aimed at growing awareness and support for their cause so they can help more people.
My cause
My cause I chose was Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. I believe that Big Brothers Big Sisters of America is an important cause to care about because it seeks to change the life of kids in need.
Everyone in life needs some sort of mentoring their life ether being a teacher, parent, or a friend.

BBBS Campaign
BBBS uses Social marketing very well by using content marketing on their social media pages. BBBS had a campaign about defending kids potentials and it was very popular because each week on their social media they talked about how a different kid was doing better after joining the program an how that the program has helped them see their potential in life. I think ahead was successful because majority of kids are on some sort of social media now a days so they would most likely see it due to the fact that BBBS uses cookies to track where people go so they can send filtered ads to kids who are looking up things that seem like they could be struggling.
Using my skills learned from digital marketing to promote BBBS
Every child goes through some sort of struggle in life and they can ether go two ways from that struggle, thy could go down a bad path or go down a good path. That's why I think it is very import to promote Big Brother Big Sister. This quarter we have learned many skills in digital marketing a skill that I would use to help promote BBBS better would be focussing more on PPC on google ads as well as doing a better job of using email marketing to send out emails to the parents if the kids are younger or emails directly to the kids if they are older that way you can really connect with the kids and try and build a connection with them.
