How the Digital Accelerator is supporting young people to overcome barriers into the tech sector

Digital and tech roles now account for more than a fifth of all jobs in the UK, while 60% of employers report a technical skills gap as the biggest barrier to achieving their business objectives over the next three years. Further to this, a recent study in the Harvard Business Review found that there is a real gap between the skills students have and the relevant skills they need. This means that graduates entering the employment market are unprepared for today’s quickly changing demands.

As we shift to a digital economy, digital skills are becoming more and more important for everyone to master, especially people just beginning their careers.
