AI startup Aveni has raised £2.75m in funding in an investment round led by Tricapital and Par Equity.
The investment will enable the Edinburgh-based firm to accelerate growth and expand beyond financial services.
AutoRek appoints new CTO as firm continues to scale
Glasgow regtech startup AutoRek has appointed Andrew Elmore as Chief Technology Officer.
Elmore brings with him significant experience as a senior technologist in the financial services sector, having previously held roles at PagoFX, Velo Payments and C24 Technologies during its sale to Gresham in 2016.
TechX Accelerator graduates raise £5.2m ahead of graduation
12?startups?have graduated from the TechX Clean Energy Accelerator following an intensive 15-week programme.
Since starting the programme in February, the companies have already raised a combined £5.2m in equity.
Scottish pupils set to receive school meals by drone delivery
Pupils in remote parts of?Argyll and Bute?could soon receive drone-delivered school dinners.
In a UK-first, Argyll and Bute?council will partner with?drone specialists Skyports?to trial the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) in delivering the meals.
IGS strikes new deal with US-based firm
Scottish agritech scaleup?Intelligent Growth Solutions?(IGS) has signed an exciting new deal to supply its vertical farming technology to a US-based company.
The company has struck a new strategic partnership agreement with Long Island-based?CubicAcres, which will see IGS deliver high-quality, sustainably grown crops for consumption on the East Coast of America.

Scottish small businesses raising record-breaking levels of investment
Scottish small businesses saw record levels of equity investment in 2021, according to a new report.
The British Business Bank’s?Small Business Equity Tracker?found that £549m was invested in small Scottish companies across more than 223 equity deals.
The funding boost marks a 77% increased compared to 2020 levels, the report found.
