Digging Deeper Into Why Client Testimonials Matter

Okay, okay. This isn't quite the traditional client testimonial that many of us are accustomed to seeing all over social media. However, today's newsletter drop is digging deeper and understanding the connection between client testimonials and attraction marketing. Now, as a business coach who specializes in LinkedIn attraction marketing strategy, I am going to help you understand why posting client testimonials works.

First of all, let's talk a little bit about attraction marketing and what it is. In its simplest form, attraction marketing is sharing your personal experience of how a service has improved some aspect of your life and your business. The core of attraction marketing is to sell the service without outright selling your service, by way of storytelling and emotional connection.

Let's break down how your client testimonials aid in your attraction marketing strategy:?

  • People buy when they see other people buy. Think influencers and why TikTok Shop is the US’s own Shein/AliExpress/Temu. ???? This method helps to expedite the credibility that you have as a career coach in your space. Your current/former client goes ahead and share their personal experience of how you’ve been able to help them get results. Your client’s testimonial says, “Invest in Coach Mollie. You will get results.” without saying it verbatim.?
  • The proof is in the pudding. Your client’s testimonial is read as factual evidence. I’ve been guilty of it and have seen many coaches who have a flavor of desperation in their content. 'Please book the call with me! You won’t regret it! I promise I won’t outright pitch you! Just talk to me…please, just talk to me!!!' I know you know what I’m talking about…
  • Comparison game. Your prospects, whether they admit it or not, love comparing themselves to your clients. 'Am I like her? Let me click on her LinkedIn profile to see her education degrees and her work experience. If she can get a job with Coach Mollie with a 60% salary increase in 3 months, well, then hell, I can too!' Hence, your client’s testimonial will help attract other like-clients.
