Dear friends of e-Estonia,
Estonia is widely acclaimed for its digital innovations and flourishing startup ecosystem. Moreover, Estonia boasts the highest density of AI startups per million people and already has more than 100 AI use cases in the public sector. Despite of this, somewhat surprisingly, Estonia has witnessed limited AI adoption within its industrial sector, with just 4% of companies incorporating AI last year.?
Andrei Hirvi researched in his master's thesis what are the most significant barriers for Estonian companies in using AI, and many similarities can be drawn with obstacles in digital transformation. One of the most important is the lack of upper management support.
While the majority of enterprises in Estonia are SMEs, they often lack the expertise, resources and financial capacity to integrate complex AI solutions for their tailor-made solutions. But here's where AI & Robotics Estonia (AIRE) comes in to help with awareness raising, educating, auditing, and testing.?
