Dig Deep

I have just completed Shaun Week. Wow! ??

7 intense days of 30 minute total insanity training like never before. Amazed!

Throughout the workouts – there are persuasive messages from the world of Personal Development Leadership that resonate so loudly within.

You have to challenge your muscles to change your muscles.

If you work from your core – you succeed.

If you fight until the end and trust and believe in yourself – you can do hard things.

Breathe through it to believe in it and see results.

Keep your focus, own it, stay in it and fight for it.

When you control parts of your body – your control parts of your life.

And the final message today being: DIG DEEP.

Ironically, I have also finished re-reading Dr Brene Browns book The Gifts of Imperfection. This book is all about letting go of who you think you’re supposed to be so that you can embrace who you really are.

Over the past few years, Brene has taught me so much about wholeheartedly living, courage compassion and connection. She has given me some of the most powerful and transformative tools that I use in my own life and with my clients to cultivate and practice authenticity and gratitude, creativity and faith, the importance of play and being still, resilience, doing meaningful work and showing up.

“Owning our story and learning how to love ourselves through the process is the bravest thing that we will ever do”.

As I reviewed some of my notes this morning, the tool DIG DEEP was staring right at me!

The same day Shaun Week ends with Dig Deep, Brene reminds me what this really means and how we can all use this button to create a life we love.

The dig deep button is the button you rely on when you’re too tired to do something one more time. It’s the secret level of pushing through when you’re completely overwhelmed and there’s too much to do and too little time for self- care and most of your resources are depleted. When you feel emotionally, physically, or spiritually done, relying on the dig deep button helps you push through, soldier on and suck it up.

D =Deliberate in my thoughts and behaviors through prayer, meditation, or just simply by setting my clear intention.

I = Inspired to make new and different choices.

G = Going. Take action.

We can all dig deep.

We can look at the things in our lives that we want to elevate and advance. We can look at the things we want to grow or strengthen. We can look at the things we want to change or remove.

Let’s dig deep where it matters most to us right now. Choose one thing you really want to bravely focus on today.

D = get deliberate and specific about what you want, how you want it to look and feel like and set a very clear intention. First in your mind and then on paper. Write it down in detail.

I = give yourself the gift of inspiration. Listen to music, be in nature, read something uplifting and motivating. Watch a ted Talk, learn from a guru or someone you deeply admire who has achieved what you want to achieve. Get Inspired.

G = Take on an action. Do something. Now. Get going and make that first move.

I am using the vowel check every day to help me feel strong, appreciative and proud when I dig deep.

A –Have I been Abstinent today?

E – Have I Exercised today?

I – What have I done for myself today?

O – What have I done for Others today?

U – Am I holding on to Unexpressed emotions today that are holding me back or sabotaging me?

Y –Yay! Am I aware of what is good today, am I grateful for what is and am I celebrating something that I am proud of, any progress towards a goal?

How do you dig deep.

I’d love to hear from you!
