A different view - discovering a city with a bike advocate

There is nothing quite like discovering a new city with a friend who knows their own back yard well. For many people that will be culture, food or city landscapes.

Ride around with a cycling campaigner then every city is a patchwork of stories, battles won and lost, ideas and issues that occupied both activists and transport planners for years, some that happened, some that may still happen.

That's why I was so delighted to be in Chicago for the first time this weekend with the advocacy legend that is Randy Neufeld , getting under the skin of his home patch and sharing his stories. Chicago delivered cold and clear for a first time visitor, so the bike ride was also great, but can anyone ever explain that route, if you didn't know who we were?
