Different Sales Methodologies as Haikus
I often get asked what the difference is between the major sales methodologies, and which one is "the best". Altify uses Targeted Account Selling internally, but we have clients using all of the major methodologies, and we have to be fluent in the terminology and concepts of them all. This is a very positive aspect of my role, because I have a personal interest in the subject of sales methodologies and the psychology of selling.
All of the major methodologies have shown their value in the real world, and they share some major concepts like uncovering the buyer's real pain and motivation, leading the sales cycle instead of being led, and understanding the buyer's process and capacity to buy.
Obviously you can't really, fully explain a major methodology in a Haiku, but it's fun to try and find an essential emphasis in each one that can be distilled into my favorite form of poem.
Targeted Account Selling:
Some deals are yours
And some are not. You must see
The difference quickly

A patient comes to hospital
Does he seek a friend?
Or a Doctor?
Miller Heiman:
I wove my net for many days,
to make it big.
Because I want big fish.

The Up Front Contract
lives in the mind, yours and theirs,
not on paper
