Different personality traits in R & S.

The job of an R & S may come across as the same to a lot of us initially, but there is a significant difference in the role and a huge difference in the personality traits of these two profiles.
A Recruiter's personality needs to be -
1) Really good at building relationship
2) Excellent communication skills
3) Multi-tasking abilities
Recruiter (360 Degree R in this context) personality is equivalent to that of an Entrepreneur because he/she is supposed to have really good communication skills, be able to sell ('everything is sales' believer) a role to the candidate, and vice versa. R needs to be at par with Compliance and admin duty, look for new leads and do all this simultaneously without losing the bigger picture in mind.
Whereas a Sourcer-
1) A calm yet aggressive thinking ability (Research ability at the expert level)
2) Person who can identify opportunity in disguise
3) Someone who knows 'Jugaad' or can see into cracks
Sourcer has to be a laser-focused person for the role at hand, to understand the requirement of the role at a deeper level since he/she is responsible for identifying the right candidate as the sole focus of the role in hand, the quality matters a lot. Someone who knows his way around things, problem-solving mindset, and has the ability to read between words.

Somewhere the traits of a Sourcer should be in a Recruiter as well, but as a Sourcer you have to be at the Expert level of these traits, for a Recruiter the other traits measure 60%+ of the personality because you need to establish a connection with unknown individuals and get their attention through communication.
To be honest, these are just a very few trait-based comparisons, things go a lot broader and deeper, I will be covering the other traits, and a few details on the above in the coming articles.
Remember -
R - is a people's person, can sell, multi-task, be on top of everything
R will deal with too many things in a single working day.
S - is the back-bone (operations focused), can dig to the right place, understands mapping a populous and provide quality in everything
S will deal with one thing but to the last thread of that thing and close it.
