A different kind of kids' birthday present
This is a fantastic piece of kit. My boy read the manual and assembled a fully-working laptop in about 25 minutes - without a soldering iron! He's now able to write his own code. There's a drag-and-drop version too.
I did this in the 90s without an instruction booklet and is was very fiddly. Computers were slower and noway near as fun as they are now.
Fortunately the battery doesn't last too long which is a good excuse to take it off him and give him a break.
The wife thinks I bought it for myself. TBC...
