Executives all across the country are finding that giving away money, time, and products to charitable foundations is a good way to attract talent. Between charitable programs and local community support, giving to the ones less fortunate has seen a significant increase since the start of the pandemic. As it should. If I'm being honest, I never really enjoyed scrolling through Linkedin and seeing people starting new roles and posting their "awesome new tech that XYZ company" gave them after joining. It gives off an image to me that says "come work here they give you cool new shiny toys to play with." If I was coming out of college and that was a selling point, would I have gone for something like getting decked out in new Apple tech? Absolutely. But, you know what? Times have changed and I am not mad about it. Because, you know, I'm much older and wiser now...
"The younger generation is self-organizing around things they care about...They are coming together not simply to go out and clean up a beach, which was much more the thing 20 to 25 years ago. They are coming together to study issues, like water use, energy, and education, and they are thinking about what kind of active role they can take," said Wendy Hawkins, executive director of the Intel Foundation, a $40 million charity she joined in 1990. Intel Corp. gave an additional $60 million to charitable causes last year.
So I ask, what is your why? It doesn't have to be one thing, it can be many things. What I love so much about being a Headhunter is that we can get to touch so many people's lives and (hopefully) put them in a better spot than we found them. We also know at Integrated Management that placements are fun, rewarding, and reflect the hard work that you put in. But now we are asking - what if we can do more?
So, we decided that we are going to start doing more. What I mean by more is more placements. The more placements we make, the more we are going to be giving away to charitable foundations, organizations, community outreach, etc. Here's the kicker. You are going to be the ones who decide whom we donate to. Partnering with Integrated Management doesn't just mean you are going to be getting high-quality candidates who are properly vetted to ensure a smooth interview process (blah blah blah). What it also means is that we are going to PARTNER with you on some of your most important philanthropic visions.
Do you, or your organization donate to a cancer research foundation? So will we. Are you part of a program that donates tows/bikes to kids in need? We will too. If you partner with us, it is not just a transactional partnership. "Our why is your why" - Chad Dean, President of Integrated Management. After all, what I love so much about being a Headhunter is that we can get to touch so many people's lives and (hopefully) put them in a better spot than we found them.
If you are interested in this approach to recruiting and you want to hear more, we would love to set up a call. We don't just want to hear about cool projects anymore. We want to hear about what drives you to do what you do and whom you are doing it for. A community can be as small, or as large as you want to make it. But regardless of the size, someone in that community needs our help. So, let's make something of that - however you decide.
