Differences that are valuable.

Differences that are valuable.

If you are part of the 76% of Indians who, for some reason, believe that homosexuality is ‘not justifiable’, then you can stop reading now.?

However, if you are part of those who realise that all of us are humans, and we need to support each other to grow as a society, read on.

For too long, organisations have treated the two largest genders as the only diversity that needs to be addressed. However, there are other genders in the spectrum of humans. It is time that we discarded social prejudices and stereotypes as well as removing legal disabilities.

Let us welcome back the talent that fled the country when homosexuality was again criminalised, wrongly, in 2013.

Yet, are we ready to embrace our fellow humans as they are? Or will we continue to insist that they must conform to outdated ideas of ‘normal’? Are workplaces ready to accept them for their uniqueness and the value they bring, or will the good intentions of CEOs and HR Heads be lost when there are snide comments and gossip among peers and supervisors?

Be.artsy’s Humans As Humans campaign helps organizations prepare to embrace diversity, whether by gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any of the dozens of other ‘differences’ we have just begun to recognise as valuable. Call the Awareness Experts now.
