Some think that inspections and appraisals are the same thing and one can be exchanged for the other. This isn’t true, and today I’m sharing what a home inspection is, what an appraisal is, and the differences between the two. While both mean a professional comes to check out the home, they have different purposes and things they evaluate. Essentially, the inspector ensures the structural and mechanical functions of the house while the appraiser determines its value.
