The differences between ETFE and PET materials

In current solar industry, there are many coating materials in the solar panel lamination, such as the PET coating, and ETFE coating. what are the differences?

ETFE is short for Ethylene TetraFlouroEthylene. It is a high strength fluoro-polymer or plastic material that applied as the outer protective layer installed on the face of an ETFE solar panel.

It is the most popular polymer for solar panels backsheet and front sheet due to its excellent features such as high fire resistance, excellent solar transmittance, and self-cleaning nature.

And ETFE material is an upgrade to the old PET coating material.And what are the differences?

After all, ETFE coated solar panels are better than PET solar panels. Although ETFE is more expensive, it’s superior to PET in all other aspects.
