CC1352 series chip devices are produced by Texas Instruments, cost-effective, low-power RF devices, and divided into CC1352R and CC1352P. While integrating the original features of CC1350 devices, CC1352 series chips have further improved hardware performance, including the internally available resources, the main control MCU performance, and increased AES128-bit and 256-bit encryption accelerometers. What’s more, the wireless part is upgraded to dual-band Sub-1 GHz and 2.4 GHz RF transceivers supporting BLE5.1.
The biggest difference between CC1352P and CC1352R is that CC1352P integrates PA, while CC1352R does not contain PA. The maximum transmits the power of CC1352P when using Sub-1 GHz mode can reach +20 dBm, with temperature compensation.
Since CC1352P has one more PA than CC1352R, when CC1352P is in the transmitting state, the current is larger. When the transmission power is +20 dBm, the current reaches 63 mA under 915 MHz mode, as the current reaches 85 mA under in 2.4 GHz mode.
CC1352 series chips support the rapid development of BLE5.1, which enables the data conversion from Sub-1 GHz to BLE5.1 can be completed in a single-chip device. There are already modules based on the CC1352R chip on the market, such as the RF-TI1352B1 SMD wireless module, using BLE5.1 to easily realize data transmission from the terminal to the cloud.
The application scenarios of CC1352R and CC1352P are more abundant and will play a leading role in the fields of smart home, smart wearable, mobile e-commerce, health care and other Internet of things in the future.
Both CC1352R and CC1352P use 48 MHz Arm? Cortex?-M4F CPU. Compared with the CC1350's 48 MHz Arm? Cortex?-M3 CPU, the processing power is greatly enhanced.

CC1352P block diagram:
CC1352R can be said to be an upgraded version of CC1350, mainly because MCU and programmable flash memory in the system have been greatly improved.
The main characteristics of CC1352R, CC1352P, CC1350 are compared as follows:
C1352P adds PA on the basis of CC1352R. In application scenarios that require high transmission power, the larger current in the active mode TX of CC1352P can support the signal transmission further. For example, only in the application scenarios that need low transmission power, CC1352R can meet the needs of users.
CC1352R, CC1352P devices have very low active radiofrequency. The sleep current is less than 1 μA, standby current is only 0.85 μA.
The CC1352R and CC1352P can combine a flexible ultra-low power RF transceiver with a powerful 48 MHz Arm? Cortex?-M4F CPU on a platform that supports multiple physical layers and RF standards. The dedicated radio controller can process low-level RF protocol commands stored in ROM or RAM, thus ensuring ultra-low power consumption and excellent flexibility. The low power consumption of the device will not affect the RF performance and has excellent sensitivity and durability.
CC1352R has 28 GPIOs, two more than CC1352P GPIOs. The CC1352R and CC1352P devices include a fast wake-up and ultra-low-power 2 MHz mode sensor controller, designed for sampling, buffering and processing of Analog and digital sensor data. The BLE5.1 protocol that supports ultra-low less power. Therefore, the MCU system can maximize sleep time and reduce operating power consumption.
For example, CC1352R and CC1352P will have excellent performance in intelligent security systems. The excellent 48 MHz Arm? Cortex?-M4F CPU can process a large amount of data. Its Sub-1 GHz and 2.4 GHz frequency bands support long-distance and short-distance information collection and processing. The BLE5.1 protocol uploads security information to the gateway in a high-speed and low-consumption manner, forming an important part of the intelligent security system.
The excellent performance of CC1352R and CC1352P will bring more possibilities to the development and application of the Internet of Things. In the future, more application products similar to the RF-TI1352B1 module will help intelligent applications go further.
