Difference & Similarities between a mentor and a coach. And why you need both?
The last two posts I wrote, focussed on why you need a mentor and why you need a coach. In today’s post, I summarize how they are similar and differ from each other. And finally we summarize with why we need both. Here is a handy table of differences.

This is a crucial topic that often gets overlooked. Having both a mentor and a coach can provide a well-rounded support system, as mentors offer long-term insight based on experience, while coaches focus on skill development. Encouraging a culture of mentorship not only benefits individuals but also strengthens organizations as a whole. It would be great to hear how others have balanced both roles in their personal or professional development.

8 个月I always enjoy Mayank's posts - and our chats! He is not only incisive and clear, but also thoughtful in often surprising and innovative ways. I remember the first time we spoke. At the end of the chat I had half a page of notes and 5 new browser windows open! Another great post Mayank, thank you.
