It's time to take action on the difference that will make the difference.*
As you start this second week of 2022 I want to share something positive and helpful that you can carry with you throughout the entire year so I wrote this...
You may or may not of heard the phrase;
"Same old thinking, same old solutions"
This is paraphrased from a few Albert Einstein quotes, some of which being;
“It’s meaningless to continue doing the same thing and wait for another result.”
“We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them”
"Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results.
Now, all that is great at telling you WHAT to do but HOW do you know what to change?!?
In 1972, following a talk at the Alfred Korzybski's Institute of General Semantics, Gregory Bateson published a book called 'Steps to an Ecology of Mind' where he presented the idea of finding the "difference that makes a difference".
So, as you move through this year if you find yourself wanting to progress, wanting change or are feeling stuck or not achieving your goals again, ask the following questions...
1. "What result am I actually after?"

2. "Am I failing the achievement of this goal because of the same thing as last time?"
3. "What is this that thing?"
4. "How can I achieve the goal in a new way?"
Sounds simple, right... but unfortunately unconscious habits and strategies normally catch us out!?However, this will at least give you a starting point to understanding why you are not achieving those goals you set each year despite the enthusiasm and excitement in January.
Gregory Bateson played a key role in the development of Neuro Linguistic Programming. Amongst other things he contributed the concept of framing and reframing, which is key to the core NLP syllabus.
From my own experience on route to becoming an NLP Trainer, learning about NLP at a Practitioner and Master Practitioner level can really be the 'difference that makes the difference'. You not only learn how you can help others but you learn how to help yourself along the way... and the kicker is once you know it, you know it forever!
Whether it is professionally or personally,?
if this is the year that you are motivated to make the change?
that makes the difference for yourself and?
furthers your knowledge on how you can help others change for the better,?
I know that the NLP courses I am running this year will be perfect for this.
