Learn to value the things others are reluctant to give. Value is more expensive than the price. Look beneath the surface. The worth of a thing is what it will bring. Anything you lose automatically doubles in value. Quality is remembered long after price is forgotten. We have all had the experience of buying something that seemed cheap at the time, only to find that after minimal use it broke down. It may have cost little but it was worth nothing. The money spent was completely wasted.
