The difference between PCB and PCBA
PCB stands for Printed Circuit Board, which is a type of electronic board used in the electronic industry. It is made using electronic printing technology, hence the name "printed" circuit board. PCB is an important electronic component in the industry as it supports electronic components and serves as a carrier for electrical connections. PCBs are widely used in the production of electronic products due to their unique characteristics, such as high wiring density, small size, light weight, standardization, and automation.
PCBA stands for?Printed Circuit Board Assembly, which is the entire process of assembling electronic components onto a PCB. This involves?Surface Mount Technology (SMT)?and Through-Hole technology (DIP), where SMT does not require drilling holes in the PCB, and DIP requires the insertion of components into pre-drilled holes. SMT is mainly used for small-sized components, and the production process involves PCB positioning, solder paste printing, SMT mounting, reflow soldering, and inspection. DIP, on the other hand, is used for larger components, and its production process involves back glue pasting, component insertion, inspection, wave soldering, board brushing, and inspection.
In summary, PCBA refers to the finished product after all the processes on the PCB are completed, while PCB refers to the naked board without any components. In other words, PCBA is a finished product, and PCB is an unfinished board.
