The difference between medium-temperature GPC and high-temperature GPC.

The main difference between medium-temperature graphitized carbonizing agent and high-temperature graphitized carbonizing agent lies in their graphitization process conditions and effects. Graphitization is a heat treatment process aimed at transforming non-graphite carbon into graphite with a three-dimensional regular ordered structure.

  1. Process temperature: As the name suggests, medium-temperature graphitized carbonizing agents undergo graphitization at moderate temperatures, while high-temperature graphitized carbonizing agents undergo graphitization at higher temperatures. The specific temperature range may vary depending on the material and application, but generally speaking, the temperature of high-temperature graphitization is higher than that of medium-temperature graphitization.
  2. Arrangement of carbon atoms: After high-temperature graphitization, the arrangement of carbon atoms presents a microscopic morphology of graphite. This orderly flake-like arrangement of graphite can be the best core for promoting the graphitization process in cast iron.
  3. Carbonizing effect: High-temperature graphitized carbonizing agents have a higher absorption rate due to their special preparation process. For example, the absorption rate of petroleum coke graphitized carbonizing agent can reach more than 90%, making it more widely used in nodular cast iron.
  4. Impurity content: Since high-temperature graphitization can reduce the impurity content in the carbonizing agent, increase the carbon content of the carbonizing agent and reduce the sulfur content, high-temperature graphitized carbonizing agents are generally superior in quality to medium-temperature graphitized carbonizing agents.
