Copywriter or Content Writer?
What is the difference between the two roles?
The simplest way of putting it is:
A Content Manager manages all the copy and adapts it for different venues (social media, website, landing page…)
The next question most new freelancers ask is:
Which position pays better?
Copywriter position! Because their Copy serves to sell the product.?
That is why this role is a bit harder too. It takes a huge amount of research and adapting to the desired lingo. Lingo is everything. Do not forget that!?
A great copywriter will ask to reach out to your former associates, to ask them tricky questions. Although it may sound harsh, this part is not to be taken personally.?
It is important to establish the flaws so Copywriters could turn those into opportunities.?
Definitely consider signing a Non Disclosure Agreement, or an NDA to protect yourself and the trust of the client.?
Content creators (writers or managers) are in the game for the long haul, which makes them the ideal choice for entrepreneurs and start-ups.?
They are creative individuals that:
Obviously, there are pros and cons to both jobs.?
As someone who does both - I prefer content management.?
Why? - you must be wondering.

Content writers, on the other hand, have a responsibility to keep the audience reading. And we know how grammar affects reading - once we see a mistake, the brain simply stops and it is more likely we’ll lose interest altogether. I know I would.?
The most used emotion in copywriting these days is FOMO (fear of missing out). The reader feels obligated to buy a product because they might:
The content creator (writer or manager) isn’t concerned with emotions or a friendly approach. The mission is to inform, educate, and keep the audience interested in further development.?
When it comes to SEO (Search Engine Optimization), copywriters can take a rest, this one is on content writers. Properly purposed content should be optimized for search engines.?
Another difference is the length of the content.?
A copy that sells usually consists of a limited word number. More often than not, we’re talking about two sentences per piece.?
Content creators have a more responsible role, which means long texts, somewhere between 500 and 2500 words.?
Copywriters deliver:??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Content writers deliver:
I hope you feel more confident about choosing between the two roles.?
