?The difference between being a box dropper or a problem solver

?The difference between being a box dropper or a problem solver

One of the most famous problem solvers:

Wolf does one thing well. He solves the problem and that's it. No distractions.

Many Systems Integrators are notorious box droppers. They assume the solution to any client's problem is a box they have in their inventory. Yes, there is a probability of success in this approach but it has high risk in not actually solving the problem at all!

A client will have challenging problems and those are the ones to solve. If you cannot solve the problem walk away or refer them to someone who can resolve it for them. A fancy widget that does not address a underlying business requirement from client is doomed. I have written previously about "The business of SD-WAN from the top down!"

The solution to a problem is never a pattern match of deploying firewalls that have VPN functionality that has been renamed as SD-WAN. Rather identify the problems and determine appropriate solutions and mitigations. It might not even be related to SD-WAN. It might not even be an IT problem!
