The difference between ASTM A234 WPB and A234 WPC
We may ofen encounter the material of ASTM A234 WPB,It is a common kind of carbon steel.
Yesterday I met the material of A234 WPC, want to know their differences, so collected some informations, here to share with you.
1.For chemical composition:Carbon content of WPC ≤0.35，WPB ≤0.30.The rest of the same chemical composition
2.For tensile strength：WPC 70-95,WPB 60-85
3.Minimum yield strength：WPC 40,WPB 35
The rest of the arguments are the same.

5 年ASTM A234 consist of A234 WPA,WPB and WPC the major different composition is % of Carbon and the major different Yield &Tensile stress. attached is WPA&WPB comparison for example

6 年WP = Welded Pipe ; B and C are grades. As per ASME these are Wrought products (Grades B and C) (since the welded pipe is a misleading terminology , in fact it could have been weldable pipes) Both are same with some material composition difference.
