No diesel, but GreenBattery for dewatering pumps when installing district heating

In?Amsterdam?the district heating departement of?Vattenfall?and partners?GreenBattery,?Van Gelder Groep BV?and?Tromar B.V.?are working together towards an emission free building environment. The use of batteries on construction sites and road works is becoming more common.

This pilot focuses on the well drainage in the pit; within the municipal boundaries of Amsterdam there are at any time approx 800 drainage pumps to run (24/7). The electrification of these machines - based on our experience - could lead to an annual emission reduction of approximately 15,000 tons of CO2.

Over a period of about 10 weeks in total we protected the environment in many ways: for example 3,000 liters of diesel for the standard diesel generators that were no longer needed.

That is the equivalent of about 50,000 kilometers driving a car. We saved approximately 7 tons of CO2. As a reference: you can connect 15,000 laptops at the same time and let it run for one day. No less than 100 hammer drills of 500W can be used simultaneously for one day.
