Did you sleep well?

To what extent does rest bring us extra capacity to tap into new resources within and around us, and help us adapt to the current change in our relationships, our society, in our lives?
Did you help yourself to sleep well?
Our routine in the evening can set us up well or badly for sleep. We probably know this somewhere in our mind at 6pm at 8pm at 10pm, but do we account for it or discount the effect it will have, when we are winding down?
I’m experimenting with choices in the evening and finding it is so easy, when I am tired, to choose easy rather than choose well!
What are your experiences with great routines for sleep? How did they affect the quality of sleep you get?

4 年Sleep for me is key, but there is a sweet spot between 7.5 and 8 hours, any less and any more, I dont feel as great. Another key is consistency of getting up times in particular. Good questions as always Lorenza Clifford

4 年Has to deal with sleeplessness this last year. Sleeping much better. So ditto to all the above: eat early in the evening, ease off tv well before bedtime, love your bedroom and make it a haven..... and consider a weighted blanket! I’m loving the effect mine has on the quality of my sleep ?? ????????

4 年A positive outcome I’ve experience during lockdown has been that I’ve been sleeping so much better in the past few weeks. With a lifestyle that’s been always ‘on’ it feels like I’ve been living on adrenaline for quite some time. With exercising and meditating more my sleep/wake cycle has significantly changed. As annoying as it may have been initially I’ve been getting up at 5am and then hitting snooze and getting up later. It has made me think why hit snooze, what could I do with those extra few hours in the morning now? I don’t really need the extra 1 or 2 hours. I prefer to spread activity in the day than do everything at once. I guess I’ll need to review this now.

4 年The only new years resolution I ever kept was to give up coffee after 4pm and it really works. I also have a no screens policy after 9 but in lockdown I'm doing less well on that. My biggest problem isn't going to sleep but waking up early and having really weird dreams at the moment!

4 年After reading 'Why We Sleep' Lorenza My entire idea about sleep totally changed. Last night I was in bed before 9.45pm and up at 5am after having a solid 7 hours of sleep. I used to be a night owl rarely in bed before 1am but now I'm very conscientious about my routine of making sure I wind down, and get a good nights rest so I can be at my best the following day! #mentalhealth #sleepbetter
