Apparently, it’s been found that many trees move their branches up and down during the night. The findings hint that the trees are actively pumping water upwards in stages, and that trees have a slow version of a “pulse” *.
They say that business is like a tree – it’s either growing or it’s dying. I love the tree metaphor. It has all sorts of analogies with business. And there is a fundamental analogy which is that a tree seedling sends down roots quickly to try and find water. They go in all directions until a root taps a water supply. A business needs cash flow quickly. It needs to sell.
A business needs its target market to know it exists and why they need to buy the business’ product or service. There are literally hundreds of ways to market your business and get yourself known. And once your target market knows about you, you need to know how to get them to buy.
How good are you at selling?
Trees need sunlight in order to grow and thrive – those that focus longer and grow faster gain more than their fair share of the sunlight. A business needs to sell its product or service in competition with other businesses trying to sell their product or service. How good are you at selling your product or service? Do you understand the needs of your target market? How good are you at persuading them to buy from you? – and not from the competition?
