More than 5 million people in the UK put in UNPAID OVERTIME HOURS on a regular basis.
In actual fact, The TUC state that our UK workers gave £33.6 billion of free labour to their employers by working unpaid overtime.
We are always so busy it seems this has become the norm.
With redundancies, cost-cutting, sickness and #maternityleave and many who face their job tasks doubling-up because staff are not always being replaced, it’s no wonder we are looking for more time for ourselves, more time to breathe.
Working flexibly can be the answer to releasing a pressure valve, especially if you’re a #workingparent or a #mother on #maternityleave and planning to #returntowork and you’re concerned about juggling your work and family commitments.
A reduction in working hours can be life-changing for you… as mother and as an employee:-
- Less overwhelm and no more rushing around
- Feeling more in control at home and in your job
- Improved focus and concentration
- Flexibility to meet your family needs
- The ability to attend to personal and life obligations
- Feeling content, happy and fulfilled
If you normally commute and you negotiate to work from home, you’ll not only save on your commute time, but petrol and money too.
The statutory right to request flexible working was introduced in 2002 to help families who wanted to stay in work, but since 2014 this now applies to all employees with 26 weeks’ continuous employment.
As a #CEO of a thriving organisation, approving your employees’ request to flexible hours of working has a great number of benefits:-
- Increased #employeemorale
- Increased engagement
- More commitment
- A reduction in employee turnover and absenteeism
- An increase in your ability to recruit outstanding employees
- The option to extend your hours of operation
- The opportunity to develop an image as an employer of choice with family-friendly flexible work schedules.
Like it or not, #flexibleworking has become part of what mums are looking for
