Did you know you can grow your business by using your personal story?

When it comes to leveraging your personal story to grow your business, most business owners make the mistake of confusing their personal, vulnerable (and sometimes unprocessed) stories with what’s “professional” enough to share.

What parts of my story should I share, and which do I hold back on?” Is a common Q I get when people start working with me.

If not answered, this internal confusion gets reflected into their brand, which can look like:

?? Creating super professional posts that come off as stiff or robotic

?? Sharing personal things that don’t seem to relate to the brand (and getting a vulnerability hangover after)

?? Not posting personal things at all, which leaves you feeling paralyzed, resentful of social media, and like you’re not expressing your truth

?? A frustrating mix of all of the above

Which then leaves your audience feeling confused about who you are and what you do, and YOU feeling confused about how the F to talk about it in a way that actually supports your business (instead of feeling like you’re word vomiting).

THERE IS ANOTHER WAY!

Instead of seeing your personal story and business as separate, start seeing your personal story as the magic elixir that gets INFUSED into your business to make it more uniquely you and connects your ideal clients and opportunities to you.

Your personal story – where you came from, the obstacles you’ve overcome, the experiences you’ve had – actually informs your authority as a business owner, whether you’re aware of this or not.

When you connect the two, as so many of my clients and students have done, the results are powerful because you get to:

??Show up in your business as who YOU authentically are.

??Share stories from your life and perfectly tie them into your business strategy.

??Uniquely stand out in your industry with a brand story no one else can copy.

So next time you’re feeling stuck in between “am I being too personal” and “is this professional enough,” change your perspective and ask…

“What story can I share that comes from my heart AND supports connecting with my ideal audience?”

It’s not separate… your personal story is your superpower ?.

Do you agree or disagree? Let me know in the comments.
