Did you get in Early?

“I wish I got in early with Google” “I wish I got in early with Facebook”

I’ve heard these same words uttered time & time again from business owners musing over the rock-bottom prices & lucrative ROAs of early Facebook & Google.

But here’s what’s crazy, many of these SAME PEOPLE are missing the boat on YouTube Ads RIGHT NOW…

It’s human nature.

Hindsight is 2020

10 years ago the opportunity to get on Google PPC early was available, many people took advantage of dirt-cheap search traffic, even Gary Vaynerchuk made much of his fortune boosting his family’s wine empire in the early days of PPC.

5 years ago Facebook Ads were in their hay-day, dirt cheap prices, an algorithm with a seemingly endless supply of leads. Those that got in early were greatly rewarded & major businesses were made on the back of Facebook Ads.

And yet many people still sat on the sidelines.

Waited for the ‘word to come in’

It wasn’t until they were certain “Google would work” & “Facebook was a sure thing” that they actually started advertising.

But by then it was too late.. at least to take advantage of those same ‘first mover ad costs’

And indeed it was those ‘first mover ad costs’ that provided the rocket fuel needed to create many powerful businesses.

Those that waited saw results, sure, but it was a far cry from those ‘early days’ and rock-bottom prices.

Don’t get me wrong, Google PPC still works, Facebook Ads still supply great leads.

But the days of taking advantage of low-competition are OVER.

Those days are gone.

Leaving people saying…

“I wish I got in early with Google” “I wish I got in early with Facebook”

Yet Human Nature is a fickle thing…

Convincing the mind that they’ve already missed out. There are no more opportunities.

Even when an opportunity is right there.

And opportunity you’re reading about right now.

That opportunity is…

YouTube Ads.

YouTube Ads are still benefiting from ‘first mover’ ad costs.

Businesses & Marketers alike are only just starting to harness the power of online video.

And that is exactly what you can use to your advantage.

As Lauren says, LinkedIn is on its Golden Age. And you said on the article "The Golden Era of YouTube Ads", everything is cyclical. Many people think that there is no more space for influencers on YouTube, but due to the audience, YouTube is now a good platform for both companies and influencers that look to give meaningful content to the world. We just need to seize the opportunity :D
