Did You Forget Something?

Did You Forget Something?

How often do you feel like you have forgotten something? Something important? Not like forgetting where you put your cellphone. Rather, what you are supposed to be doing in life.

Not what society, family or monetary concerns dictate.

Something meaningful to you.

Remembering your purpose here is the number one reason you exist.

Part of you knows there is something more. Maybe it felt like a fleeting glimmer. Maybe it showed up as a profound yearning, a childhood dream. Maybe everything you tried to do somehow felt wrong, flat, frustrating. Or just did not work out.

For me, it showed up as a hit on the head. That was the only way I would listen. When ten people arrived in my living room waiting to hear me say something profound, I stuttered my way through. But eventually it was clear that this was what I was supposed to be doing.

Everything in my life had unknowingly led me there.

Everything in my life suddenly made sense.

You too arrived with a specific mission, something you were meant to bring into fruition. You knew it upon arrival and then promptly forgot.

Forgetfulness happens when your concerns shift from being a spirit to surviving in this physical realm. Fear takes over and amnesia sets in. You become vulnerable to believing what others tell you and stop being authentic.

Once you sway from your chosen assignment, you start feeling angry, frustrated, lost and hopeless with no idea why.

You are desperate to remember but you do not even know what you are trying to recall.

Once you do remember, it feels obvious since part of you knew all along. You look back and see that all your life challenges were trying to support accomplishing your mission. They were aspects of the spiritual agreements you made based on what you needed to learn and clean up in this life.

Perhaps as a spirit you said, “I'm going to learn how to forgive others and myself in this life since I did not achieve it last time.”

To accomplish this lesson, you needed to go through something that challenged your ability to forgive. So, you chose a family that abandoned you.

In your spiritually amnesiac state, you feel victimized. You spend years resenting the experience rather than seeing it as a chosen lesson. Others offer pity rather than applauding your choice to learn in such a perfect, agreed upon way.

At some point, your forgetfulness starts to wane. You notice the ongoing forgiveness lessons. You accept responsibility, knowing you chose these situations as a way to evolve to a higher consciousness state of love and empowerment.

Awakening to your true self, your life starts feeling purposeful. Things make sense and you know what you are here to accomplish.

It bears repeating: Your number one job here is to know yourself. That is how you are going to awaken to why you are here.

You are then aligned with your spirit, your authentic self.

And then you remember.
