Did You Ask Them to Forgive You?

Did You Ask Them to Forgive You?

As we move into the year's final months, it’s the perfect time to reflect and review what can be received, what can be accepted, and what can be released.

Yom Kippur begins tomorrow at sunset and ends on Wednesday at nightfall. It is the holiest Jewish day and a time for atonement and repentance. It is usually a week after the Jewish New Year.?

On this day, the whole country of Israel shuts down—no cars, television, radio, or even transportation of any kind.?

It’s traditionally observed with a day-long fast, contemplation, and intensive prayer. It’s a time when we atone for personal sins, reflect on the year that has passed, and let go of what is weighing us down so we can start fresh again.

It’s a time for purification and forgiveness.?

It is an opportunity to ask for forgiveness from those you have hurt, to forgive yourself, and for self-contemplation.

You actually pick up the phone after Yom Kippur and call those you need to ask for forgiveness. It’s a brave practice the world could use a lot more of.?

Yom Kippur offers the opportunity to start a New Year with no baggage on your shoulders.

Setting aside time to review, reflect, and reset is a powerful practice for everyone to experience.

I highly recommend you find a time over the next few months to sit in silence and be present with the impact of your year on yourself and others, even if it feels uncomfortable or scary to do so.

How will you honour this beautiful opportunity?

If you need help processing and releasing deep emotions preventing you from growing into the powerful change-maker you are meant to be, or if you need to release and forgive (yourself or others) but struggle meeting these areas in yourself, I invite you to apply for one of the limited?private coaching?spots available.?
